1977 (B.E. 2520)

Boromarajonani College of Nursing Chiang Mai was founded as “Chiang Mai Midwifery Health School” and established near the Mothers’ and Children’s Health Center at 36 Prachasamphan Rd., Tambol Changkhlan, Amphoe Muang, Chiang Mai. It was an educational institute affiliated with the Department of Health, Office of the Permanent Secretary of Public Health, Ministry of Public Health.

 

The College began offering an 18-month Midwifery Certification Program. From 1977 to 1983 there were 12 graduating classes and a total of 559 students graduated from the college.

1984 (B.E. 2527)

The College began offering a 2 years Community Health (Midwifery) Certification Program. From 1984 to 1987 there were 6 graduating classes and a total of 359 student graduated from the College

1987 (B.E. 2530)

The College changed its name to “Chiang Mai Nursing and Midwifery College” and began offering a 2 years Basic Nursing and Midwifery Certification Program. From 1987 to 1997 there were 14 graduating classes and a total of 745 students graduated from the college.

1993 (B.E. 2536)

Boromarajonani College of Nursing Chiang Mai changed its affiliation from the Zone 5 Mothers’ and Children’s Health Center to the Praboromarajchanok Institute, Office of the Permanent Secretary of Public Health, Ministry of Public Health, in accordance with the Transfer of Duty Act and some management activity within the Ministry of Public Health.

1994 (B.E. 2537)

Princess Srinagarindra Boromarajonani bestowed a new name upon all nursing colleges in affiliation with the Ministry of Public Health. The colleges would henceforth be known as Boromarajonani College of Nursing. Thus, the Chiang Mai Nursing and Midwifery College received its new name “Boromarajonani College of Nursing Chiang Mai” on September 1, 1994.

1998 (B.E. 2541)

The College began offering a 4-year Nursing Studies Certification Program. From 1998 to 2005 there were 8 graduating classes and a total of 420 students graduated from the college

2000 (B.E. 2543)

  • In May, 2000, the College moved from its original location near the Zone 5 Health Promotion Center to 201 M. 4,  Donkaew Subdistrict,  Maerim District , Chiang Mai 50108.

  • On December 14 the college was graced by Galyani Vadhana, Princess of Naradhiwas, who bestowed the name “Rachanakharin Building” upon one of the classroom buildings.

  • The College began offering a 2-year Nursing Studies Certification Program (similar to a continuing studies bachelor’s degree). From 2000 to 2006 there were 7 graduating classes and a total of 437 students graduated from the college

2002 (B.E. 2545)

The Nursing Studies Program curriculum was adjusted to be an integrated program. The Nursing Studies Graduate Program was created. Beginning in 2002 there were 6 graduating classes and a total of 538 students graduated from the college.

2005 (B.E. 2548)

The College began offering an Advanced Emergency Medicine Certification Program. From 2005 to 2014 there were 8 graduating classes and a total of 339 students graduated from the college.

2006 (B.E. 2549)

The College Affiliated with Chiang Mai University.

2009 (B.E. 2552)

The Nursing Studies Graduate Program curriculum was updated. From 2009 to 2014 the updated curriculum had 3 graduating classes and a total of 272 students graduated from the college

2012 (B.E. 2555)

The Nursing Studies Graduate Program was updated according to Chiang Mai University’s affiliations institute. From 2012 to 2017 there were a total of 3 graduating classes.

2017 (B.E. 2560)

The curriculum was updated according to the higher education standards of the nursing field. This curriculum is still ongoing to date.
